Klinten

Klinten (“The Cliff”) occupied a narrow strip of land at the base of Ranängsberget. It had previously been the site of just two cottages, where residents grew their own food on the surrounding land. The fate of Klinten is a familiar tale: the factories that popped up in the area both took up arable land — but they also offered a less vulnerable way of life as employers. A push and a pull. So it came to be that Klinten’s homesteaders and Gårda’s farmers were working on factory floors by the time 1900 rolled around.
